Made for the ISU LGBTAA (Iowa State University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Ally Alliance).

I was asked to make a button for the Allies so I did. It's all rainbowy. :3 I hope they like it. Haven't yet shown it to the other Cabinet people so it hasn't been approved yet.

Great pic!

I don't think we can fight homophobia without the support of allies. Although there can be homophobia within the LGBT community, our biggest challenge is to unite members of the LGBT community with the heterosexual world to gain acceptance.

I really like this one because this button doe not exclude heterosexual supporters and I think it is really important to emphasize their value as a part of the gay community. The more , the merrier.

Agreed. I was just going to put "Ally" but that could be misconstrued as an acronym and on a rainbow background it wouldn't give the right message. I really hope we get to make actual buttons of it.

So, the alliance is for people who are straight, but support the plethora of others out there? Beats the old logo I used to see around, something like "str8 ally"

Well the Alliance is for everyone but unlike most LGBT clubs, we have an emphasis on including those straight supporters. They're a very important part of the community but people tend to forget that. I really don't like a lot of the old logos for straight supporters.

Yeah, straight supporters are just as valuable as anyone else to the community but they get taken for granted far more often than any other group. I'm hoping we can change that around here in the next few years.
